The Advanced Practice Provider is a faculty member credentialed and privileged to serve as a Physician Associate or Nurse Practitioner.   The position involves a mix of clinical responsibilities that include seeing patients in ambulatory clinics (8 sessions/week).   Clinical Responsibilities: -

The GI Hospitalist/Assistant Professor will provide consultative care for patients admitted to OHSU. The General GI consult service is supported by a GI fellow and a skilled and experienced advanced practice provider (NP/PA). Clinical duties will primarily consist of providing patient care on the inpatient consult service, Ambulatory endoscopy, and urgent GI clinic.    Duties include: 

Instruction of medical students and house staff in the incumbent’s area of expertise, participates in the administration of the department as approved by the department chair.

The fellow will gain operative experience in all aspects of Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery and is expected to have ample experience in craniofacial trauma and pertinent microvascular surgery. One to two days a week will be spent in the outpatient setting seeing patients in the different multidisciplinary clinics as defined above. The fellow is required to attend the weekly Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery teaching conference as well as the monthly Craniofacial conference. The fellow will present once a year at general surgery grand rounds and be expected to engage in new or ongoing research projects within the Craniofacial team.
