The Medical Director of liver transplant provides leadership for OHSU liver transplant program in the division of gastroenterology and hepatology for OHSU. Providing continuity of care for patients in the Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) who are being admitted to the inpatient unit but are still boarding in the PES. The boarding provider will provide inpatient level of treatment for such patients including assessments, treatment planning, and care coordination. Additionally, this position will provide as needed coverage in both PES and inpatient departments as determined by the Medical Directors.
Responsibilities include the full range of body IR diagnostic and interventional procedures with special focus on peripheral arterial disease; outpatient clinical practice; care of IR inpatients; call coverage of the Body interventional service in rotation with the other Body faculty; and participation in Institute educational endeavors and quality programs. Care will be provided at OHSU as well as at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, Randall Children’s Hospital, Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital, Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center, and Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center as assigned by the Department Chair and Medical Director.
In addition, this position provides clinical audiology support. This may include, but not be limited to pure tone audiometry, speech audiometry, electrophysiological assessments, including ABR and OAE. Appropriate follow-up care including aural rehabilitation, lip reading, and referral to appropriate education and community agencies will be done to ensure maximum benefit from assistive devices.
In addition, this position will provide education and training to medical students, residents and audiologists in a clinical setting through assigned lectures.
