The full-time annual base salary range for this position at an Associate Professor rank is: $161,796 - $183,480; Professor rank: $202,206 - $285,162; commensurate with experience and rank. Base pay does not include incentive pay, hiring bonuses, or additional benefits such as retirement contributions.

 

 

The appointee shall conduct an independent program of research in developmental psychopathology and mental health within the Steven J. Sharp Center for Mental Health Innovation (CMHI). The appointee will advance collaborative science, faculty and trainee development, and externally funded research, and may provide educational or clinical services as determined, in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service.

 

The Department of Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University seeks an established investigator at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor to join the faculty of the Steven J. Sharp Center for Mental Health Innovation. The CMHI advances mental health discovery and its translation into practice. Its faculty study developmental origins of mental health, child and adolescent behavioral risk, ADHD, depression and suicide risk, and substance use through variety of methods, including genetics, neuroimaging, neuropsychology, computational approaches, advanced analytics, and clinical trials. The appointee will maintain an active, externally funded research program and provide research leadership through collaborative scientific initiatives, team science, multidisciplinary research, and contributions to the CMHI's long-term scientific direction. Mentorship of faculty, trainees, and other investigators in grant development, research execution, publication, and career advancement will be a central responsibility. The appointee will help mentees develop competitive grant portfolios and participate substantively in funded research. The successful candidate will bring broad translational expertise in developmental psychopathology and a transdiagnostic perspective that meaningfully includes relevance to externalizing disorders and ADHD. Experience with neuroimaging and/or clinical trials is desirable.

• A Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. with advanced training in psychology, psychiatry, behavioral neuroscience, behavioral genetics, or a related discipline.
• Qualifications sufficient for appointment as Associate Professor or Professor in the OHSU Department of Psychiatry, within the School of Medicine.
• An active program of extramurally funded research and a sustained record of securing competitive external funding.
• A nationally or internationally recognized publication record in developmental psychopathology or a closely related field.
• A broad, transdiagnostic research program in developmental psychopathology.
• A demonstrated record of mentoring faculty, trainees, or other investigators in grant development, research design and execution, publication, and career advancement.
• Collaborative scientific leadership in center-wide initiatives, multidisciplinary programs, team science, and faculty and trainee development.
• Willingness to contribute to graduate or residency education, trainee mentorship, Grand Rounds, consultation, and instruction.
• A commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.
• Service on Departmental and University committees as appropriate.

• Experience integrating biological research (e.g., neuroimaging, biomarkers, etc.) into developmental psychopathology research.
• Clinical trials experience and capacity to mentor basic, translational, or applied research.
• Leadership of multidisciplinary, multi-investigator, or multi-site research programs.
• Experience developing shared scientific infrastructure or cross-laboratory initiatives.
• A record of translating findings toward clinical practice, prevention, or intervention.
