Clinical: This position will be a shared position with the Department of Orthopaedics and the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine and will be based within the Department of Orthopaedics.   This position will help to provide non-surgical clinics for Orthopaedics to help diagnose and treat injuries or illnesses for nerve, muscle or bone injuries. They will help patients to assess condition, needs and expectations and rule out any serious medical illness to develop a treatment plan to meet their rehabilitation needs. Services provided in conjunction with APOM will include clinical evaluation and management of pain patients in the Comprehensive Pain Center utilizing psychological approaches, physical therapy, drug therapy, and interventional modalities. Care provided in the Comprehensive Pain Center (CPC) must be done in compliance with established guidelines of the CPC and in collaboration with APOM providers.   This position will work with the Department Clinical Medical Director to determine a clinical schedule that will help meet the needs of the Department and patient population. This position will also be expected to take call, as assigned, with other faculty on nights, weekends, and holidays.   Education: Teaches trainees and support staff in their area of professional expertise. Teaching is done through assigned lectures to be given during the course of the year and through teaching in the course of performing their own job by modeling best practices, mentoring trainees, guiding learning through delegating graduated and focused levels of responsibility. The Department of Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University is seeking to make an open-rank faculty hire during the next academic year, as part of our growing scientific efforts in the Center for Mental Health Innovation (CMHI). The mission of the CMHI is to advance scientific discoveries in mental health and rapidly translate those into real-world practices, thereby propelling the transformation of mental health care and improving lives. The CMHI is well-endowed and engages exceptional scientists in multiple areas of developmental psychopathology research, including developmental origins of mental health (maternal and infant), child and adolescent behavioral risk, ADHD, depression/suicide risk, and substance use, as well as using multiple methodologies including genetics, epigenetics, neuroimaging, neuropsychology and cognitive computational methods, and advanced analytics for prediction science. Clinical trials using novel treatments and precision biomarkers are underway. The Department and the CMHI are seeking applications candidates to join our faculty in the Fall of 2024. We are seeking clinical or translational scientists conducting research in any area of developmental psychopathology that will either build on or complement existing CMHI research strengths. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research interests align with the CMHI mission and who are looking to translate scientific discovery into clinical practice. In addition, while the position is open-rank, we are interested in candidates with demonstrated leadership interest and potential. OHSU is well equipped with a state-of-the-art neuroimaging center, outstanding core facilities and laboratories, a strong pre- and post-doctoral training infrastructure, and proximally-housed developmental and clinical researchers with ample space for human subjects study data collection. The Director will work closely with nursing, surgeons, and other hospital leaders. The one-year Men's Health and Fertility Urology Fellowship is located in the Department of Urology. The appointee shall provide services in the Department of Urology as assigned by the fellowship director. This will include ambulatory clinical practice and surgical practice in any of the OHSU or partner operating rooms. The fellow will develop a thorough understanding of the evaluation and management of Men's Health and Fertility-related urologic conditions. Fellows will spend their time with different faculty performing men’s health and fertility-related care. How this exposure is balanced will depend on fellow interest, previous exposure in prior training, surgical skill, as well as clinical demand. Exposure to other urologic surgeries is important for a well-rounded training experience and to gain greater insight and knowledge about men’s health and fertility principles. An average of 2-3 days per week will be spent in an outpatient clinical setting/research/administrative time. As this field is very collaborative with other specialties, fellows will have extensive exposure to other disciplines. Fellows will be expected to attend all meetings of the OHSU Urology department for faculty. Fellows will attend and be expected to present research and clinical teaching presentations at national and international meetings. Fellows may be asked to give teaching presentations within OHSU and locally, as well. Fellows will act as a point of contact for residents in the residents' management of patient care. This may include rounding on weekends at times.   As board-eligible and licensed urologists, Fellows will take call as OHSU faculty at a frequency consistent with other OHSU Urology faculty and be responsible for clinical care as a result of those duties. Fellows may also be called upon to periodically staff patient consults seen and worked-up by the residents. This is important in developing autonomy needed for future practice, as well as financial support of the fellowship position.   Outstanding level of professional performance expected. Professional performance is delivered in a manner that is compliant with the regulation and guidelines of all relevant regulating bodies (i.e. DNV, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, OHSU IRB, NIH and all other state, federal, and institutional regulatory guidelines.) Treats all patients, research subjects, trainees and co-workers with dignity and respect.   Academics: Fellow may be involved in teaching support staff in their area of professional expertise. Teaching is done through assigned lectures to be given during the course of the year and through teaching in the course of performing their own job by modeling best practices, mentoring trainees, guiding learning through delegating graduated and focused levels of responsibility. Must be knowledgeable of and compliant with all applicable regulating bodies (e.g. ACGME competencies for clinical faculty, NIH guidelines for research faculty).   Research: May maintain a program of scholarly research activity directed toward improved understanding for the causes, detection, and treatment of diseases.
