The Center for Biomedical Data Science (CBDS) at the Knight Cancer Institute (KCI) at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) is searching for multiple tenured or tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and/or Professor) in the area of Biomedical Data Science.  Faculty will be members of CBDS with primary tenure home in the Division of Oncological Sciences (DOS) at KCI. A secondary appointment in a different unit at OHSU is possible depending on the candidate's discipline and research focus.   The newly founded CBDS, as a nexus for research in data science at OHSU, is dedicated to advancing precision health in general, and precision early cancer detection and therapies in particular, by analyzing large, complex, multi-modal multi-scale data through the development and implementation of novel computational analytical toolsand methods. The data science goals include identifying biomarkers associated with response and resistance to therapy; modeling etiologic causes of cancer; modeling the development and progression of cancer; organizing and processing large data resources to create harmonized datasets; and mining datasets for novel subtypes of diseases. The field analyzes all kinds of cancer data, including omics, anatomical imaging to molecular imaging to nanoscale imaging, cellular and pathway interactions, electronic medical records, and published literature. A key area of focus is integrating datasets, such as combining public and private datasets or merging data across modalities, and doing novel analyses on integrated datasets.   To serve these goals, CBDS seeks interdisciplinary scholars whose work spans diverse areas, including but not limited to: machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, AI-enabled health, computational biology, systems biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, dynamic modeling, responsible and interpretable AI, multi-scale multi-modal data integration, and data analytics and visualization.   Responsibilities Faculty members at CBDS are expected to develop independent research programs that attract external funding; supervise students, postdocs, and staff in their area of research; teach courses at the graduate level; and participate in service to CBDS, KCI, university, and discipline. - The clinical director of the division of pediatric orthopedics, and Doernbecher Surgeon-in-Chief will work with you to develop your clinical and operative schedule.  Your duties will include inpatient, outpatient and surgical service activities for general orthopedic surgical services at Doernbecher Childrens Hospital, with a specialty focus in your area of interest as agreed with the Department Chair and Doernbecher Surgeon-in-Chief. Experience and interest in all aspect of pediatric orthopedic surgery, with or without an interest in spine is accepted and appreciated. Call: This position will be expected to take call as assigned with other faculty on nights, weekends, and holidays. - Education: As OHSU is a teaching facility, instruction of medical students and residents in the clinical setting as well as through assigned lectures is required. Teaching assignments will be given from the Director of Education for the Department of Orthopedics.

The Layton Aging & Alzheimer’s Disease Center in the OHSU Department of Neurology is recruiting a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor to join our well-established and growing center. This faculty member will have opportunities to participate in the clinical and research activities of the NIA-funded Oregon Aging and Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, ORCASTRAIT Roybal Center, Oregon Center for Aging and Technology (ORCATECH) and other center initiatives.   This position will be approximately half clinical and half research. Clinical duties include outpatient clinic shifts, teaching medical students, neurology residents and geriatric neurology fellows.   Research activities may be investigator-initiated or come from existing projects if the applicant does not have a funded research program. Associate Professor of Biostatistics is engaged in biostatistics collaboration, research, teaching and consulting and other service activities at OHSU. - Research: They conduct collaborative and independent research in biostatistics. Specifically they serve as a member of the Biostatistics Shared Resource (BSR) in the Knight Cancer Institute and engage in collaborative cancer research including, but not limited to translational oncology, quantitative oncology, cancer prevention and control. They may be involved in collaborative research in other institutes/centers/departments such as the Biostatistics & Design Program (BDP) of the Oregon Clinical & Translational Research Institute (OCTRI). They are expected to demonstate consistent scholastic productivity in terms of publications and grants. - Teaching: They engage in teaching and mentorng activities through the BSR, including office hours and participation in educational and training in cancer biostatistics. Clinical: This role will be 100% focused in the Heart Failure ambulatory practice - with flexibility to meet patient (inpatient) care needs, as required. - Evaluation and management of patients with acute and chronic systolic and diastolic heart failure. - Outpatient management of chronic and acute heart failure, and palliative management of end stage heart failure. - Ambulatory management of patients before and after advanced heart failure therapies. - Ambulatory management of patients with chronic heart failure that are not candidates for advanced heart failure therapies. - Participation in Heart Failure team conferences, listing meetings, clinic conferences. - Assist in generation and maintenance of order sets and other tools to facilitate Heart Failure best practices. - Management of patients with heart failure that are living with durable mechanical circulatory support, implantable PA pressor sensors, and/or long-term inotropic therapy. - Ability to provide guidance to RN’s working on the heart failure team and provide clinical expertise and mentorship. - Ability to work with the broader heart team providers and primary care cardiologists and physicians in a collaborative model to coordinate complex and team based care. The trauma, critical care and acute care surgeon shall be expected to perform clinical and basic science research. Duties will also include resident, fellow, student and staff teaching. This position requires undivided effort at the specified FTE.  The general pattern of working hours will be set by the Head of the Division, but deviations from general patterns may be necessary to meet projected requirements. The ideal candidate would have the potential to achieve independent federal research funding.
