This position is for a Neuro-Oncologist clinical researcher for a joint program between the Departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery and the Knight Cancer Institute.    Responsibilities include management, treatment, and follow-up care of patients with brain tumors; participation in clinical trials; teaching medical students, residents and fellows; inpatient attending rotations on the neuro-oncology service and shared night/weekend call. This position includes the opportunity to develop a scholarly program in neuro-oncology research.    The outpatient program will be centered in an interdisciplinary medical and surgical neuro-oncology clinic housed in the Department of Neurological Surgery with dedicated nursing and APP support and administrative program leadership. The inpatient practice will be housed in the Division of Medical Neuro-oncology in the Knight Cancer Institute. The program will also access the clinical trial and biobanking infrastructure of the Knight Cancer Institute. The program is further distinguished by advanced diagnostic and intra-operative imaging and surgical technology. Primary academic appointment will be in the core training specialty with joint appointments in the other two disciplines.   Academic duties includes teaching at all levels in the care of patients with brain and CNS tumors, and engaging in scholarly activities relating to the Neuro-oncology subspecialty.

The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.   Clinical: This position serves as a Structural Cardiologist in the Interventional section. Duties include outpatient clinic, inpatient cardiology and cardiology consult service rotations. Additional duties will include in imaging and echocardiography. Other areas of clinical duties may be available depending on need and interest of applicant.   Education: OHSU is a teaching institution and as a faculty member, you are expected to provide mentorship and direction to students, residents, fellows and staff. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a faculty member credentialed and privileged as a Physician Assistant (PA) or an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN). The APP is a member of the OHSU & Hillsboro Medical Center (HMC) Professional Staff practicing in accordance with the respective bylaws. The APP shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. The APP is expected to comply with scope of practice, other laws, regulations, OHSU & Hillsboro Medical Center policy, and other applicable professional standards of practice. Duties of the position include:   Clinical Activities:   - Evaluates and manages patients for wound care and ensures delivered care meets current standards of practice. - Demonstrates competency in the position of wound care including assessment and debridement. - Participates in the Quality Improvement Program to optimize quality service and maintain a high level of patient satisfaction. - Serves as a patient advocate, initiating action to provide continuity of care outside of the facility setting. Specific duties:  The candidate will be expected to establish a high quality research program, establish collaborations as part of a collegial group of basic and clinical researchers, supervise a laboratory team, successfully apply for external grant support, publish manuscripts in high quality journals, and participate in occasional seminars, teaching and mentoring of interns.   Specific areas of research to be given highest priority would include:  1) Development of novel IRD disease models in rodents and primates or using human IPSCs; 2) Development of novel therapeutic agents for macular degeneration and IRDs including but not limited to: small molecule agents, gene augmentation, anti-sense oligonucleotides, gene editing and cell-based therapies.   The candidate would join a group of highly successful and collaborative researchers and clinician-scientists in the field of retinal disease.  The Casey Eye Institute has extraordinary facilities and resources for research in this area, including the Ophthalmic Genetics Division, a Clinical Trial center currently conducting a dozen IRD clinical trials, the Center for Ophthalmic Optics and Lasers that includes the pioneers in OCT and OCT angiography imaging, high level facilities for small animal research, and close collaboration with the Oregon National Primate Research Center which has state-of-the-art facilities for ophthalmic research in nonhuman primates and the availability of naturally-occurring and gene-edited IRD models.

The duties of the Family Medicine Maternal-Child Health Director at 0.25 FTE are to: - Check in with residents at the Family Birthing Center 2 – 3 days a week, reviewing learning environment, sign out process, interprofessional interactions, and offering guidance - Oversee or collaborate on the attending call schedule for the Cascades East OB/Peds Service and collaborate with others who are scheduling residency activities, call, including other collaborative call groups - Attend Faculty Meetings - Represent the Residency Program at the Peds and OB Collaborative Practice Committees - Serve on the RMT Inpatient service, Cascades East OB and Peds Call in a manner commensurate with other faculty - Facilitate a Quality Program for the Cascades East Maternity Care Service and Cascades East prenatal care and coordinate evaluation of critical quality incidents - Be responsive to the needs of Sky Lakes leadership as it relates to maternity care, and build relationships and collaborate with aligned services, e.g. OB/GYN, perinatology and Midwifery - Build relationships with the maternal child health providers in the community - Be responsive to the needs of Cascades East clinic leadership as it relates to prenatal care, proactive scheduling of pregnant patients, resident continuity OB experiences, precepting maternity care - Coordinate coverage of the OB and Peds call for special events such as Resident Graduation, Resident Retreat - Collaborate with external groups, including, but not limited to Klamath Health Partnership, pediatricians, obstetricians, perinatologists, to assure quality care of patients and respectful team-based care - Assist the residency director, medical directors, chair, and others in coordinating the credentialing and billing processes for maternity care - Assure full and part time faculty providing maternity care and precepting prenatal care maintain a culture of excellence with adequate delivery numbers. - Assist in onboarding and support for new faculty providing maternity care. - Coordinate and maintain ALSO course experiences, FHT tracing trainings, and other trainings for residents and faculty - Work with residency director and educational leadership to optimize the educational quality of resident experience, evaluation of faculty and residents on OB and Peds and oversee resident compliance with work hour requirements. - Assist in overseeing high quality sign-out process - Oversee the OB teach process, intern orientation, OB continuity experiences, C-section training experiences, procedural competency attainment for maternity care and peds - Assist and ensure resident training and compliance with Sky Lakes requirements - Be a source of support and mentoring for residents in maternity care training - Lead systems for resident evaluation of faculty and ensure that maternity care faculty receive timely and personalized feedback on OB-related teaching, professionalism, and maternity care and peds skillsets - Maintain participation by faculty in the curriculum and lead remediation and development efforts as identified by the faculty evaluation process - Work collaboratively with the Residency Director, other associate directors, and the DFM in identifying faculty development needs pertinent to maternity care faculty - Facilitate participation of residents in educational activities. The Appointee will be expected to have a strong commitment to developing the practice into a vibrant clinical and academic operation, which is successful from both a professional and business perspective. - Be available for teaching activities.

The duties of this position revolve around teaching, research, and clinical activities. The teaching duties of the position involve participating in the education and training of medical and nursing students, house staff, and the regional medical community. The faculty member will be expected to make a didactic presentation at the Division’s Grand Rounds at least four times per year. The second component of the position involves establishing and maintaining scholarly research activity directed toward the improved understanding of the causes, detection, and treatment of diseases. The clinical component of the position involves providing clinical care to patients at the University Hospitals and Clinics, as well as affiliated hospitals and clinics, and engaging in public service through consultative activities in the appointee’s specialty with non-University groups. This position will maintain a broad reconstructive practice focusing on general plastic and reconstructive surgery including: free flap reconstruction for breast, lymphedema surgery, head and neck, trauma, lower extremity reconstruction and wound care.

This position is under the supervision of the Chair of the Department of Dermatology. The position supports the missions, goals, and objectives of OHSU encompassing teaching, research, outreach, and public service. Research opportunities will be under the direct supervision of Sancy Leachman, MD, Ph.D. Responsibilities include providing leadership and conducting independent research, mentorship of junior members of the laboratory including students, technicians, and post-doctoral fellows, manuscript preparation, and grant application preparation. It is expected that independent funding will be sought. This position participates in department affairs, contributing to curriculum development, and other responsibilities as determined by the department.

Provide electrolysis teaching, consultation and treatment in the outpatient setting. Primary electrolysis site will be genital areas. This includes, but is not limited to: independently seeing patients for consultation, new patient and return visits, and being available to take all patient calls regarding questions; assisting clinic support staff with patient paperwork and questions. Provide education to medical students, residents, staff and patients in the area of electrology.   Experience working with transgender patient population preferred. Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize; ability to be a self-starter and organized; ability to work as a team member and also independently; must possess a positive and enthusiastic attitude, an eagerness to learn the background in plastic surgery, particularly gender affirming surgery and breast cancer reconstruction, possess excellent communication skills (verbal, written and active listening).  

Clinical:  - Procedures in the EP lab, inpatient consults, managing the inpatient EP service in conjunction with APPs and fellows, EP clinic, supervising device clinic, and reading ECGs and ambulatory monitors, as well as developing and growing specific areas of clinical interest.  - Additionally, there will be outreach opportunities, as assigned by the chiefs of EP and cardiology.  This position will also share in the EP call coverage, as well as the teaching of EP and cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students. A CRNA is a member of the OHSU Professional Staff practicing in accordance with the respective bylaws. The CRNA shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. The CRNA is expected to comply with scope of practice, other laws, regulations, OHSU policy, and other applicable professional standards of practice.   Clinical Service: Provides anesthesia care within the care team model commensurate with education, licensure, certification, and within limits of experience and expertise.   Scholarly Activities: Participates in clinical research projects as approved by the APOM Vice Chair for Research, conducted throughout the perioperative period. Participates in ongoing APOM CQI activities as directed by the Chair or appropriate Vice Chair.   Educational Activities: Responsible for the didactic and clinical training of  learners,  as approved by the APOM Vice Chair for Education and CRNA site director, throughout the Dept APOM, which may include paramedic students, flight nurses, nursing staff, Residents and Fellows form departments outside of anesthesiology, Registered Student Nurse Anesthetists and administrative and support staff.   Administrative Activities: May participate in additional departmental or hospital administration as approved by the chair, supervising Vice Chair or Chief CRNA.

Provides full spectrum family medicine care, (including obstetrical care (OB), though it is preferred and not required). The provider will directly see patients in their clinic eight half days per week and have two half day’s available for administrative duties/scholarship duties. Expectations for number of patients seen per half day will be commensurate with that of other faculty and with minimum target numbers of 8-10 visits per half day depending on complexity of the patient population. Documents using the electronic health record and maintaisn complete and timely patient care documentation consistent with OHSU and Family Medicine policies and procedures. Works collaboratively with full and part time faculty to maintain an active practice, and is expected to have a strong commitment to developing the practice into a vibrant clinical and academic operation, which is successful form both a professional and business point of view. Will also be available for teaching activities including but not limited to resident precepting, student precepting, didactics and more. By mutual agreement between the Department and the physician, this position may include Inpatient Care (HMC and OHSU) with call duties being shared with the faculty inpatient call group. The Appointee will be expected to participate in seeing patients during expanded access hours in the clinic, including their share of evenings and weekends, and call coverage. Compensation for the position will include a University base academic salary and a clinical incentive system based on productivity, as well as, personal initiative.   

This position will be working directly with the practitioners of the OHSU Headache Program, seeing patients in a clinical setting. Clinical responsibilities will include eight half day weekly Headache Clinics at CHH.   Academic responsibilities will include teaching medical students, residents and fellows while attending the Neurology Headache clinics and in other settings as deemed appropriate by the Neurology Department.  The individual will be expected to participate in departmental activities consistent with this position and with the understanding that this position requires a focus and dedication to the department and the program. These duties may include memberships, special lectures, or participation in departmental committees.

The primary function of the Geriatric Psychiatrist is to provide direct clinical care in the inpatient setting to geriatric patients on an as needed basis.
