- The clinical director of the division of pediatric orthopedics, and Doernbecher Surgeon-in-Chief will work with you to develop your clinical and operative schedule. Your duties will include inpatient, outpatient and surgical service activities for general orthopedic surgical services at Doernbecher Childrens Hospital, with a specialty focus in your area of interest as agreed with the Department Chair and Doernbecher Surgeon-in-Chief. Experience and interest in all aspect of pediatric orthopedic surgery, with or without an interest in spine is accepted and appreciated. Call: This position will be expected to take call as assigned with other faculty on nights, weekends, and holidays. - Education. As OHSU is a teaching facility, instruction of medical students and residents in the clinical setting as well as through assigned lectures is required. Teaching assignments will be given from the Director of Education for the Department of Orthopedics. - Research. There are resources available for start-up research and on-going support. - Administration. Administrative and other duties may be assigned based on needs within the Department of Orthopedics and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and areas of expertise and interest. The Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) Department of Diagnostic Radiology is seeking a faculty member for our Cardiothoracic Imaging Section. Appointment will be at the level of Assistant, Associate or full Professor, depending upon qualifications.   As the only academic medical center in the state of Oregon, OHSU provides a full spectrum of care to a large and diverse population, including the Knight Cancer and Knight Cardiovascular Institutes. Accordingly, the department has state of the art imaging equipment and sees patients with a wide mix of complexity and pathology. Academic activities within the section are centered on the promotion of excellence in the evidence-based application, performance, and interpretation of Cardiothoracic Imaging.   The campus offers excellent opportunities for multidisciplinary research, with a history of innovative and collaborative studies. OHSU is home to numerous specialized research centers and institutes, including one of the first Clinical and Translational Sciences Award-funded programs in the country (the Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute), the Advanced Imaging Research Center (dedicated to improving medical imaging), the Knight Cancer Institute, the Dotter interventional Institute, and the Knight Cardiovascular Institute. The Knight Cancer Institute is the only NCI-designated Cancer Center in Oregon.   Clinical responsibilities will include interpretation of all aspects of thoracic (CT/MR and radiographs) and cardiac imaging (CT and MR); as well as thoracic biopsies/aspirations. Familiarity with imaging of acquired and congenital heart diseases and imaging of minimally invasive techniques in the adult population is expected. Familiarity with cardiac imaging in the pediatric patient population would be desirable. The primary focus of this position will be to treat patients referred to otolaryngology for sleep disorders.  This position will provide specialized, evidence-based care in sleep surgery and otolaryngology-head and neck surgery.    This position will play an active role in training residents and fellows in sleep surgery as well as opportunity to pursue research. - This position works in the capacity of a Board Certified Otolaryngologist Surgeon within the Department.  - It is the expectation that the faculty member participate in clinical and surgical activities and take fair share of call on nights, weekends, and holidays. - OHSU is a teaching facility and this faculty member will be expected to teach medical students and residents in the clinical setting as well as through assigned lectures to be given during the course of the year. Teaching assignments will come from the Director of Education. - The purpose of this position is to coordinate and support the outpatient medical needs of patients in Otolaryngology. This position interacts with other care providers to deliver appropriate, timely care and patient education in an academic setting.  Patients seen in the Otolaryngology clinic are commonly referred for disease of the ears such as chronic otitis media, cholesteatoma, and hearing loss, airway problems, trach care and education, head and neck masses, cleft palate, chronic sinus disease and voice disorders.  Common procedures performed in clinic include: otomicroscopy, flexible fiberoptic laryngoscopy and nasal endoscopy.  This position will actively foster and maintain systems and relationships to ensure smooth care transition from the clinic setting to the operating room and back to the clinic setting. - This position will conduct a number of clinic sessions along with Operating room time at OHSU and one OR block per month at HMC.  This position is expected to attend morning rounds, participate in Grand Rounds and take fair share in call at OHSU.

Build and maintain an outpatient continuity clinic (combination of in-person and telehealth visits). Appointment times for intakes and consultations are 60-90 minutes, 30 minutes for medication management and 60-minute slots available for combined psychotherapy and medication management. Providers have the flexibility to follow-up with patients as frequently as appropriate to provide the best quality of care.   Outpatient psychiatric consultations are encouraged at 0.1FTE (2 consults per week). Clinical education of residents through outpatient supervision is strongly encouraged and may comprise up to 0.1FTE.   Faculty take call 2-4 weeks per year. Call is comprised of in-person coverage of the inpatient C/L psychiatric services on weekend mornings (staffing with residents in-person) followed by after clinic hours call (supporting residents by phone) for the remainder of the week.  Our faculty work as a team to cover each other’s messages and urgent clinical issues while away on any leave or paid time off.  Faculty are expected to participate in this collegial coverage pool.   Faculty are expected to participate in monthly departmental and clinic meetings and attend weekly, CME-accredited Grand Rounds/M&M presentations.

The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in further enhancement of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.   This position reports to (supervisor): Hui Wu, Department Manager,  Integrative Biosciences   The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals and objects of OHSU and the School of Dentistry.   Position Responsibilities Include: - Carrying out independent research on the investigation of polymicrobial interactions and biofilm formation, and their role in health and disease.  This will include establishing new models in the study of microbial community, identifying genetic and biochemical factors that control and regulate bacterial behavior within the complex community. - The candidate should have experience in following research areas, the use of systems biology approaches such as RNA-sequencing and Chip-sequencing methods, and the development of High-Throughput Screening Assays for the study of virulence factors and enzymes that are crucial for microbial communication and biofilm formation. - Experience in the study of microbe-host interactions is desirable. The position will devote at least 90% of their effort to aforementioned project related activities, 5% for their possible mentoring responsibility and 5% for their career development. - The position will be expected to develop and carry out independent research projects, design and develop appropriate experimental model systems, perform the full genetic and biochemical characterization of targeted microbial communities, collect and analyze data and prepare and submit manuscripts for publications. The mission of the Neuroanesthesiology Fellowship Program is to develop expert clinicians and leaders by providing advanced training in the perioperative management of patients with complex neurologic pathologies in a learning atmosphere that nurtures intellectual curiosity and innovation.    The program is designed to offer 12 months of post-residency clinical subspecialty anesthesia training for adults with intracranial masses, neurovascular pathologies, and spine pathologies in diverse settings including the operating room, MRI hybrid suite, and interventional radiology suite. The fellow will also have dedicated rotations in the Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit as well as opportunities to supplement their education with electives in neuroradiology, pediatric neuroanesthesia, and intraoperative encephalography.     The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the University's   missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.  Appointee shall have a demonstrated competence in patient care.  Teaches junior trainees and support staff in their area of professional expertise.  Teaching is done through assigned lectures to be given during the course of the year and through teaching in the course of performing their own job by modeling best practices, mentoring trainees, guiding learning through delegating graduated and focused levels of responsibility.    Provides an outstanding level of professional performance (e.g. quality of clinical care for clinical faculty).  Professional performance is to be delivered in a manner that is compliant with the regulations and guidelines of all relevant regulating bodies (e.g. the American Society of Anesthesiologists, JCAHO, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, OHSU IRB, NIH and all other state, federal, and institutional regulatory guidelines).  Treats all patients, research subjects, trainees and co-workers with dignity and respect.
