The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, discovery, and patient care.   The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at OHSU seeks a full-time, qualified academic Gynecologist with subspecialty training in Pediatric Adolescent Gynecology (PAG). In alignment with the strategic vision of the hospital, the preferred areas of clinical care, research and education will be focused on: - Diagnosis and management of heavy and/or irregular menstrual bleeding due to anovulation or bleeding disorders; management of dysmenorrhea and chronic pelvic pain, including endometriosis, pelvic floor dysfunction, and complex pain. - Menstrual education and management, including menstrual suppression, for adolescent girls and young adults with developmental needs. - Management of adolescents with PCOS/hyperandrogenism and other endocrinopathies. - Care of patients with premature ovarian insufficiency including pubertal induction for patients with ovarian dysgenesis, Turner Syndrome and patients who have iatrogenic ovarian insufficiency due to cancer treatment. - Diagnosis and management of pubertal disorders including precocious and delayed puberty, vulvar disorders, including lichen sclerosus, chronic vaginitis, vulvodynia. - Management of benign adnexal cysts/masses including hemorrhagic cyst follow-up, paratubal cysts, teratomas, including surgical management as clinically indicated. - Medical and surgical management of Mullerian anomalies including hymenal, vaginal, and uterine anomalies. - Participate in team-approached management of gender-affirming care for adolescents. - Confidential and comprehensive management of Contraception/STI screening/dyspareunia integrated with other care offered. - Diagnosis and management of pediatric and adolescent vulvovaginal dermatologic and infectious disorders. - Education of medical students and residents, both clinically as well as through didactics and hands-on simulation. The successful candidate will have a clinical Gynecology practice focused on pediatric adolescent gynecology. Clinical responsibilities will include Gynecology outpatient clinics, surgical Gynecology and full participation in the Gynecology call pool. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the department’s educational responsibilities as well as clinical and research activities.   The Assistant Professor is a faculty member credentialed and privileged as an MD, with completion of an Ob/Gyn Residency, independent surgical experience necessary to provide a full-scope practice, and with demonstrated evidence and subspecialty training in Pediatric Adolescent Gynecology (PAG). The Assistant Professor is a member of the OHSU Professional Staff practicing in accordance with the respective bylaws. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team within IDD/CDRC. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides collaborative and multidisciplinary care in the OHSU/CDRC Spina Bifida Program, Feeding and Swallowing Disorders Clinic, and the Autism Clinic with a team of attending physicians, APPs, and allied health professionals. The APP will provide diagnosis, consultation, and treatment (to include care coordination and referral services) to individuals and their families with spina bifida, complex feeding difficulties, and autism. For patients with Spina Bifida, the APP will provide specialty care, especially related to bowel and bladder functioning, family coping, self-care, self-concept, growth and development and consultation to other community agencies and providers. The APP will work within an interdisciplinary model, coordinate clinic activities, and have primary responsibility for case management and care coordination. The APP shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.   The APP faculty will have opportunities to become involved in quality improvement work, education, research, and childhood advocacy. Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, the Department of Pediatrics, and the Division of IDD/CDRC are committed to developing our faculty members’ careers. A pathway for academic promotion for the APPs was recently implemented at OHSU.   Professional participation is expected including attendance in relevant educational conferences and didactic conferences. Clinical Activities (not related to teaching or research): Assure the safe, efficient, high quality and customer oriented management of patient care to identified patient populations, including but not limited to completing a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s status; developing, monitoring and revising, as appropriate, an evidence-based treatment plan that addresses diagnoses, patterns of disease, risk factors, and treatment alternatives; treat many common acute and chronic health problems; interpret diagnostic tests prescribe and manage medications and other therapies, provide health teaching with an emphasis on prevention of illness and health maintenance; and, refer patients to other healthcare professionals as necessary. - Wound Vac Management Scholarly Activities (improvement science, research, writing, abstracts, grant supported work, presentations, etc.): Keep abreast of changes in field and applies knowledge to identify and recommend enhancements to clinical quality, patient experience/satisfaction, length of stay and to achieve improvement that demonstrates a higher standard of care. Assesses and recommends initiatives to improve performance indicators related to patient experience, quality, and costs. Professional development meeting the expectations of ongoing certification. Demonstrates success or productivity in the field as evidenced by securing research funding, publication in journals and/or other forms of peer presentations. - Co-chair Department Quality Improvement committee Teaching/ Clinical Supervision: Support OHSU’s academic missions by participating in the design, development and assessment of program curricula for professional specialty area; including course objectives, instructional methods, learning outcomes, projects and assessment measures. Teach program courses as needed according to specified learning outcomes; academic advising and career related counseling for students; monitoring student retention and identifying and assisting at-risk students. May serve as the faculty of record and principle contact for extern placements and student’s performance at the assigned site. Deliver individual instruction to support fellows, residents and other clinical learners to support their personal program of learning in the applicable specialty area. Provide instruction and review of the practices, policies and procedures in a variety of functions; including but not limited to development of treatment plans, interpretation of clinical diagnostic data; developing orders; patient and family communication and education; management of medical equipment, electronic medical records; performing procedures, and transitioning patients to the next level of care. Assures adherence to the specialty specific protocols, best practices, quality, and organizational indicators. Provides input to the performance of the resident as a provider in the clinical setting. - Precept AGACNP students after one year of experience
