The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a practitioner certified through the Oregon State Board of Nursing (NP) and authorized to practice within the parameters described in Division 50 of the Oregon Nurse Practice Act (Oregon Revised Statute Chapter 678) or is a Physician Assistant licensed to practice by the Oregon Medical Board (PA). The APP is credentialed by the Credentials Committee and approved by the Professional Board of OHSU and other locations as required to practice in the hospital setting and to perform such procedures as authorized by the Credentials Committee and by the Professional Board. The APP is authorized to prescribe medications according to the state and federal guidelines and laws.
Clinical: This position is responsible for providing initial and ongoing care for patients with thyroid, parathyroid, and squamous cell cancer as part of a multidisciplinary clinic. 50% of the practice is expected to include endocrine surgery and provide radiofrequency ablation. This position will see patients at the Otolaryngology Beaverton Clinic Location 1-2 days a week and operate 3 days a month at the OHSU partner Hospital Hillsboro Medical Center. This position will be responsible for the test menu offered by the Labs, ensuring that this menu remains not only up to date, but at the leading edge of molecular diagnostics for patients with cancer. The position includes substantial administrative responsibilities, including oversight of quality management, staffing, budget planning, development of new biomarkers and related tests, faculty development, client satisfaction, and participating in molecular tumor boards and providing input into our Precision Oncology program.
