Clinical Activities (not related to teaching or research): This position works with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to urogynecology patients. This position will require expertise in clinical practice and administration within the full range of urogynecology outpatient services. The spectrum of care includes but is not limited to: overactive bladder and incontinence, painful bladder/interstitial cystitis, prolapse not yet evaluated by Gynecologist (i.e. referrals from PCPs), constipation, recurrent UTIs, pessary fittings and maintenance, bladder instillations, urodynamics, Genitourinary syndrome of Menopause with support for NAMS certification, and sexual dysfunction.   Scholarly Activities (research/writing, abstracts, grant supported work, presentations, etc.): Like all OHSU faculty members, advanced practice providers are expected to have some scholarly activity, this may be limited to educating learners as outlined below, but may also include research, and other grant supported work or academic papers and presentations in disciplines related to their field of expertise. APP faculty members are expected to participate in clinical research as needed, often with the help of trained research support staff and senior faculty principal investigators.   Education Activities (include types of teaching and types of student taught): This position provides clinical education to fellows, residents, and medical students participating in OB/GYN rotations. As part of the multidisciplinary team charged with educating learners in the urogynecology environment this person would be expected to provide feedback and evaluation, both formally and informally, of learners working in urogynecology. This faculty member will provide education and feedback to students and trainees.   Administrative Activities: As an OHSU faculty member, this position will be required to participate in faculty meetings at the division and department level. All faculty members are expected to aid the division head and department chair in providing direction to the division and the department both on a day to day basis and as part of ongoing strategic planning and strategic planning.   Other Activities: APP faculty members may be called upon to serve on OHSU committees and in other activities as directed by the department chair or division head in furtherance of division, department, or OHSU goals and objectives.

The Program Co-Leader of the Cancer Prevention and Control Program collaborates withthe Associate Director (AD) of Population Science, and other Knight leaders to foster innovative and impactful multidisciplinary research across the cancer continuum. Programmatic themes are: 1) Prevention and Risk Reduction, 2) Screening and Early Detection, and 3) Survivorship. The Program Co-Leader should conduct research in one or more of these areas. Exciting research areas rich for collaboration include cancer and aging, cancer symptom science, digital technology, community-engaged research, implementation science, and early detection and screening. Areas of future growth include cancer and climate change, behavioral science, epidemiology, and research with underserved populations, particularly Hispanic/Latino or American Indian/Alaska Native. CPS researchers emcompass basic, clinical, data and population science. Shared resources across the Knight, Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Office, and OHSU provide abundant access to state-of-the-art tools and approaches for innovative science.  The Knight also houses several scientific centers and resources in the areas of early detection, precision oncology, a state-wide prospective cohort study, the Healthy Oregon Project, and a thriving Community Outreach and Engagement program, among others.   Established scientists or physician-scientists engaged in cancer prevention research and control are encouraged to apply.    The duties of this position include: - Foster collaborations within the Cancer Prevention and Control (CPC) Program through activities such as meetings, seminars, retreats, and collaborations with other programs through engagement with clinical faculty, other Program Co-Leaders, and scientific resources at the Knight; - Promote novel science by deploying annual CPC Pilot funds (~$200,000) in partnership with the CPC Co-Leader; - Stimulate growth of extramural funding, includingthe National Cancer Institute (NCI) funding base, of CPC members to ensure robust numbers of individual member R01 grants and multi-PI grants; - Review Program membership, and identify potential new members within OHSU and provide input on external recruitments to enhance the impact of the CPC Program; - Provide formal and informal mentoring to junior faculty of the CPC Program, and others interested in this field; - Evaluate progress and set future directions with the CPC Co-Leader, Knight Leadership, and the External Advisory Committee (EAC); - Actively participate in research and activities to address catchment area needs; - Understand CCSG guidelines and requirements, develop the CPC Program component for competitive and non-competitive renewals, and participate in site visits and annual EAC meetings; - Serve as a member of relevant Cancer Center committees - Maintain a robust research program in the area of Cancer Prevention and Control, with extramural funding Goals and expectations: The Program Co-Leader will: - Commit to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the Knight Cancer Institute and beyond; - Serve as liaison between Cancer Prevention and Control Program Members and Knight Cancer Institute leaders; - Maintain funding as PI on a cancer prevention and control-focused program of research.

Clinical Responsibilities - Primary Duties: Providing patient care in the outpatient setting for patients with pituitary disorders, as well as preoperative and postoperative care, wound care, unscheduled visits, and chronic follow-up as determined by the faculty. This includes, but is not limited to: developing patient care plans with the faculty and house staff to ensure continuity of care and enhance quality of outpatient care. Training and supervision of neurosurgical team staff, house staff and medical students. Recognizing clinical emergencies or urgent situations and acting autonomously, efficiently, and effectively to provide situational resuscitation and/or treatment. Assessing patients for outpatient clinic visits, determining medical necessity of visit and ensuring a course of action based on department and OHSU policies and/or in collaboration with the faculty. Being resourceful in patient education materials for patients and families; consulting with the faculty to provide up-to-date condition-specific health care information for outpatients. This includes prompt and professional communication, face-to-face customer contact skills, crisis management, use of available information technology, standard complaint processing, flexibility in coverage of internal service needs, and continuous application of process improvement methods and skills. Scheduled clinics will include in-person, telemedicine, and virtual visits as permitted by OHSU infrastructure and policies, and managed care contract requirements. - Clinical care includes, but is not limited to: - a) Evaluates preoperative and postoperative care; - b) Communicates appropriately with other healthcare professionals to discuss relevant aspects of patient care; prescribes short-term and long-term medications; and responds to peer-to-peer insurance requests for imaging, medication orders. Responds to patient/family messages (e.g, phone, MyChart, letters) in a timely manner to address clinical problems or questions regarding the care plan or test results in collaboration with the nurses within the Department of Neurological Surgery. Determines appropriate actions directly or in consultation with physician faculty as needed. Works in direct collaboration with APPs, physicians, and surgeons to streamline patient care, communication, coordination and follow-up care. Performs minor procedures, such as endocrine testing, suture and staple removal, ventriculoperitoneal shunt tap, and lumbar punctures. Patient education is also a key duty of the position. Position also includes coverage on inpatient neurosurgical units in infrequent situations when there is an urgent need. General Responsibilities - Guidance: Provide OHSU Department of Neurological Surgery representation regarding hospital accreditation standards and provide leadership within the Department regarding compliance with accreditation requirements and guidelines in the inpatient arena. - Advocacy: Participate in quality initiatives. - Teaching: Participate in clinical in-services and staff educational programs, teach neurosurgical and diagnostic treatments to medical students, house staff, nursing staff, and other Department support staff. The Department of Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) has an outstanding opportunity for a BE/BC Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist interested in serving at the Unity Center for Behavioral Health, a 22-bed CAP Psychiatric Unit in a larger hospital which includes 80 Adult beds and a Psychiatric Emergency Service in Portland, Oregon. Unity Center is a collaborative effort to address the mental health needs of the community. OHSU’s Department of Psychiatry, in partnership with other major Oregon health systems, uses a non-coercive, highly community-oriented treatment program, which will prevent hospitalization when possible, and return patients to community services as soon as feasible. This is a unique opportunity for a creative, energetic child and adolescent psychiatrist to treat, teach, and advance their academic interests. The incumbent will work as a full-time Pediatric Inpatient Physician at the Unity Center for Behavioral Health.  As part of your duties and base pay at Unity Center, you will be expected to take regular nightly pager call duties at Unity Center, in addition to covering weekend calls, as assigned, with other faculty on weekends and holidays, up to 10 weekends in a year. You may work more weekends if you are interested. For weekend or holiday calls, you will be paid at a per diem rate. The incumbent will be allowed approximately 0.1 FTE time to pursue academic interests of their choosing, including clinical program development, curriculum development, or scholarship, typically one full day every two weeks. The hospital also serves as a major training site for the department’s child psychiatric fellowship training program, in addition to OHSU medical students and other health professional trainees. The incumbent will be expected to teach child psychiatric fellows, psychiatric residents, NP students, and medical students in the clinical setting as well as through assigned lectures to be given during the year in support of this mission.
