The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at OHSU seeks a full-time, qualified academic gynecologist with subspecialty training in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS). The selected candidate will provide care for patients in need of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and treatment of pelvic pain. Applicants should have exceptional clinical and surgical skills and enjoy training medical students, OB-GYN residents and fellows in the clinic and operating room.
The Associate Professor shall provide inpatient and outpatient clinical services at OHSU and OHSU Health partner sites as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. This position is intended to establish a clinical Gynecology practice, focused on minimally-invasive surgery. Clinical responsibilities will include Gynecology outpatient clinics (including colposcopy, contraceptive management, and office hysteroscopy under sedation), surgical Gynecology and full participation in the Gynecology call pool. The position will also be expected to participate in the department’s educational, research, and administrative responsibilities.

Clinical Activities (not related to teaching or research): Provide an outstanding level of clinical performance in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Responsibilities include:
Scholarly Activities: Like all OHSU faculty members, Associate Professors are expected to have some scholarly activity; this may be limited to educating learners as outlined below, but may also include research, and other grant supported work or academic papers and presentations in disciplines related to their field of expertise. Associate Professor faculty members are expected to participate in clinical research as needed, often with the help of trained research support staff and senior faculty principal investigators.
Education: This position provides clinical education to fellows, residents, and medical students participating in Obstetrics and Gynecology rotations. The Associate Professor may also help with clinical teaching of nurse and APP trainees. As part of the multidisciplinary team charged with educating learners in the outpatient clinic environment, this person would be expected to provide feedback and evaluation, both formally and informally, of learners working in obstetrics and gynecology.
Administrative Activities: As an OHSU faculty member this position would be required to participate in faculty meetings at the division and department level, and serve on OHSU committees and in other activities as requested by the department chair or division head in furtherance of division, department, or OHSU goals and objectives.
