The Oregon Health & Science University - Knight Cancer Institute, known as one of the pioneers in personalized cancer medicine, is an international leader in research and cancer treatment. The Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology currently has over 110 faculty and is comprised of programs in general hematology, solid tumor oncology, bone marrow transplant & cellular therapy, hematological malignancies, and palliative medicine.

Function/Duties of Position

Overview of the position

  • Provide comprehensive clinical care for patients with lung cancer in outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Participate in inpatient oncology service coverage as assigned.
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in accordance with School of Medicine and departmental educational programs.
  • Develop and maintain a program of scholarly activity focused on advancing the understanding, detection, prevention, and treatment of lung cancer.
  • Participate in clinical, translational, and/or outcomes research activities and disseminate findings through presentations and publications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support excellence in patient care, education, and academic programs.
  • Serve on departmental, School of Medicine, and OHSU committees and councils as assigned.
  • Engage in professional and public service activities, including consultation with external organizations, consistent with departmental and institutional policies.
  • Support the missions of OHSU and the School of Medicine through contributions to clinical care, education, research, and service.

Required Qualifications

  • MD OR MD/PhD
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Oregon
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine
  • Board eligible/certified in Hematology and or/Medical Oncology

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven success working with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proven track record of leading research projects
  • History of specialized training and clinical experience focused on the care of patients with thoracic malignancies, including lung and head & neck cancers.
