OHSU's singular focus on improving health starts with Oregonians and has global impact. We are the only academic health center in Oregon, but we're also nationally distinct as a university dedicated solely to advancing health sciences. This allows us to concentrate resources on research to prevent and cure disease, on education that prepares physicians, dentists, nurses and other health professionals to succeed in an evolving health care environment, and on patient care that incorporates the latest knowledge and discoveries. We have 18,000 employees and secure competitive research funding of more than $400 million a year. As a public organization, we provide community outreach and services for Oregon's most vulnerable populations. OHSU’s stated mission to improve the health and quality of life for all Oregonians through excellence, innovation and leadership in health care, education and research.

We offer the newest and most advanced treatments available, along with innovative collaborations and research opportunities. As Oregon’s only academic health center, we strive to offer the best medical care to every child across Oregon, Southwest Washington and beyond.

About Portland and Oregon

Bisected by the Willamette River, Portland is a vibrant city nestled among green woods and waterways. Only 90 minutes from the spectacular Oregon coast or towering Mount Hood, Portland offers the rare accessibility of snow-to-surf. Portland embraces cyclists, hikers, brewpubs, dogs, climbers, artisan coffee shops, book readers, foodies, professional soccer and basketball fans, award-winning wineries, concertgoers and paddle boarders. It’s no wonder Portland constantly ranks as one of America’s favorite lifestyle cities.
Joining the team providing clinical services in the Department of Psychiatry’s OHSU Resident and Faculty Wellness Program (www.ohsu.edu/rfwp). The RFWP was developed to increase resident/fellow and School of Medicine (SoM) faculty access to professional counseling and psychiatric consultation to support their successful and safe practice in medicine and personal well-being. This program served as a model for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) when developing national requirements to promote physician well-being in academic institutions. Our current team (six psychologists, three psychiatrists) provides tailored clinical services for this unique population, along with robust educational outreach and programming, and conducts research on wellness among healthcare professionals. This highly rated program, in place for over 20 years, is a national model and has seen utilization more than triple over the last 10 years. We also provide clinical and educational services to Providence resident physicians and offer telehealth, when indicated, to physicians off campus. Current RFWP initiatives include promoting healthcare professional fulfillment and wellbeing, suicide prevention, increasing outreach to SoM and School of Dentistry (SoD) faculty and expanding the OHSU Peer Support Program www.ohsu.edu/peersupport.
Key Responsiblities:
This staff psychologist will provide clinical services averaging 12-13 clinical hours during the week Mon-Fri (offering three evening appointment times), monitor emails every weekday and respond in a timely fashion. This psychologist will participate in the program’s on-call coverage: on average one month a year, providing triage of emergency or urgent calls and management of the intake email inbox. This coverage will be equitably shared with staff psychologists and psychiatrists. The remainder of the expected 20 hours of duties a week will be spent on administrative and academic tasks including patient related needs, program needs, and educational outreach. The work location is remote currently, until the RFWP relocates into dedicated newly constructed space at the OHSU Crossing Campus (estimated Summer 2026). The work location will then be primarily in person, in a shared private office at the Crossing Campus, with some flexibility for remote hours.
