Department Overview

The School of Dentistry shares the mission of the Oregon Health & Science University to provide educational programs, basic and clinical research, and high quality care and community programs. The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.

Function/Duties of Position

The duties of this position include: The appointee shall provide educational services in the Dental Student Gross Anatomy (DSGA) course (AN 711) as assigned by the Course Director. The successful candidate will be part of a team of anatomy educators who provide instruction in gross anatomy and will contribute to teaching in the DSGA dissection laboratory, a state-of-the-art anatomical dissection and surgical simulation laboratory.

 

Teaching duties will primarily include attendance at all lectures and participation in all labs to facilitate student learning from dissections by answering procedural, anatomical, and clinical questions in accordance with candidate¿s knowledge and experience. 

Required Qualifications

  • The successful applicant must have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching clinical gross anatomy, including dissection
  • Understanding of the principles of effective and inclusive instruction is essential
  • Those with an equivalent combination of relevant and recent experience, education, and or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered
  • The ability to work with a team of anatomists to provide educational content is essential
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are necessary
