The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine (PACCM) provides expert care for patients with lung diseases, allergies and immunological disorders, and post-critical illness needs in our outpatient clinics, pulmonary and allergy patients in our hospitals, and critically ill patients in our intensive care units. The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Oregon Health and Science University seeks a candidate for an Assistant or Associate Professor position on the clinical educator track. Applicants must have an M.D or other qualifying doctorate degree. Applicants should be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine and/or Pediatrics as well as Allergy and Immunology. Expertise is required in allergic and immunologic diseases for a diverse patient population in outpatient clinics and on inpatient consultations services.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching Allergy and Immunology fellows as well as residents from multiple specialties and medical students. Clinical responsibilities may include proficiency in treating both common and complex allergic and immunologic disorders in both inpatient and outpatient practice at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. The provider may also be required to spend part of their clinical time at nearby satellite locations in the Portland metro region. The ideal candidate should have an interest and experience in education, systems improvement initiatives, and/or clinical research related to asthma, allergy and immunology. There will be opportunities to lead and coordinate the development of multi-disciplinary clinics in food allergy, asthma, atopic dermatitis, and severe sinus disease.
Clinical (40-90%): Provision of outpatient and inpatient clinical duties in the Allergy and Immunology Section of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, as assigned by the Section Chief and Division Head.
Administrative, Educational and Academic (10%): There are no specific administrative responsibilities assigned at this time. Educational responsibilities include presenting at and otherwise participating in division grand rounds and other conferences and may include teaching residents and medical students. Further responsibilities will be developed in conjunction with the division chief.
Research (0-50%): Conduct independent clinical, translational, or basic science research.
