Department Overview

The OHSU Blood & Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program is a large program experiencing significant growth and is pursuing the recruitment of APPs with a record of providing high quality clinical care. This is an extraordinary opportunity to join this highly dynamic environment, inclusive of robust programs in blood and marrow transplantation, hematologic malignancies, and the emerging field of cellular immunotherapy.

The Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology currently has over 110 faculty and is comprised of programs in the general hematology, solid tumor oncology, bone marrow transplant & cellular therapy, hematological malignancies, and palliative medicine. The Division also oversees faculty in a number of community practices, known as Community Hematology and Oncology (CHO), and maintains a strong collaboration with the VA Medical Center, linked to the main campus by a skybridge.  Our clinical practices enroll more than 5,000 new patients each year.

The Division, the largest component of the Knight Cancer Institute, has a goal of providing outstanding patient care, ensuring access to high quality clinical and translational clinical trials, and integration of basic research. The Division has grown significantly over the past decade, and significant growth is projected.

The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute offers unprecedented resources to transform cancer early detection, diagnosis, intervention, and treatment, supported by the successful conclusion of a $1 billion fundraising campaign completed in 2015. Known as one of the pioneers in personalized cancer medicine and early detection, the Knight Cancer Institute creates an environment that encourages visionary leadership and dedicated teamwork in support of ending cancer as we know it.  The Knight’s vision is a world freed from the burden of cancer, and our guiding principles remind us we are a bold, supportive, and connected team.

Located in beautiful Portland, Oregon, OHSU offers a highly collaborative atmosphere within a comprehensive health-care focused university with particular expertise in cancer, neurosciences, and cardiovascular medicine. Portland is consistently ranked as one of the most desirable places to live, with easy access to a vibrant city, outdoor activities, and a world-renowned food scene.
