The Knight Cancer Institute (KCI) at Oregon Health & Science University, an NCI Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center serving the state of Oregon, is seeking exceptional faculty candidates for tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks. Given the exceptional growth in cancer research, the KCI now includes the newly formed Division of Oncological Science (DOS) that provides an academic home for cross-disciplinary cancer research that leverages team science and collaboration (https://www.ohsu.edu/oncological-sciences). DOS includes four sections representing research areas and scientific disciplines that support innovation and translation of discovery to impact cancer patients and the broader population we serve. The Cancer Population Science (CPS) section of DOS is now looking for outstanding independent investigators committed to addressing the most challenging cancer prevention and control problems in populations with or at risk of cancer and across the translational continuum. Shared resources across the Knight, CTSA, and OHSU provide abundant access to state-of-the-art tools, technologies, approaches, and statewide cohorts for innovative science.

The DOS and the Knight Cancer Institute aim to be the workplace of choice nationally and internationally for individuals to reach their potential and perform the most innovative research, education, and care in service to our patients, students, workforce, and community. We inform our work by the needs and the input of our geographically and racially diverse state and strive for a mission-driven work environment; diverse in people and ideas, equitable in opportunities, and promoting a climate of respect and trust. We instill these principles throughout our workplace culture, clinical care, educational programs, community engagement, and research activities.
Every Knight Cancer employee is expected to embody our guiding principles:

We are particularly eager to add expertise in two areas: molecular epidemiology and behavioral interventions; however, we are open to other foci that align with areas of strength in CPS and other programs in the KCI. Current faculty areas of research include cancer and the microbiome, cancer symptom science, exercise oncology, tobacco cessation, nutritional epidemiology, and health equity research. Previous experience and/or leadership within an NCI designated cancer center is also desired.
